Several Questions About Minion Master
1. Are there any tanking minions for Nightfall minion masters? Factions have Flesh Golems, but I don't really want to buy Factions just for one skill.
2. Will there ever be skill updates with new skills for Necromancers in the future, or do you usually just get the skills that come with the game?
3. Should I get Prophecies? I heard that most people preferred it over Factions and it provides many skills AND quests. The only problem is that I don't know how the population is now. Will it be hard to find groups to do quests with?

I would suggest not making a minion master. because a minion master is not a viable build to base a character around. half of the time in PvE you wont be able to summon anything anyways.

I agree somewhat with both above posters.
1) Shambling Horrors and Jagged Bones (e) are the best things to a tank you'll ever see in MMing builds that has Nightfall Only. I myself have not ventured very far in Nightfall, but in some mission in Prophecies, corpses are very hard to come by. Flesh Golem is a nice skill, but by no means the only elite that can be used for a MM. You are probably better off with Jagged Bones or Order of Undeath for MMing or Aura of the Lich (from Prophecies).
2) There will be no skills (so far there have been none at all) without a new campaign.
3) I think Prophecies has the most quests out of all three, but Nightfall seems to be a very close 2nd. The popluation isn't too bad, many people do play in Prophecies (I do from time to time). There are plenty of end-game quests after you beat Prophecies' original story. Not sure if Nightfall has or not. Factions, as I recall, does not have new quests afterwards. From time to time a new patch will bring out new quests, so keep an eye out for that.

Jagged bones may be getting hit with the nerf bat, so that's kind of like getting a new skill.

Um, maybe [skill=text]Animate Shambling Horror[/skill], but thats a stretch. You'd be better off with Fleshie if you wanted to do that.

Updates usually happen between Ladder Seasons. These are huge, over 50% of the skills in the game are re-worked. One is said to happen sometimes this month.

If you have NF, and have Heroes, Prophecies will be very easy. It was henchable to begin with and now with heroes, its a walk in the park.
However, Prophecies depends on what you like; if you are into quick completion, and a very PvP oriented chapter, Factions is for yo.
Prophecies has a slow level gaining process, and is long. But its very enjoyable, just be sure to take it slow your 1st time through.

Ehm, well, playing one build on a profession will get very boring in like.. less then a few hours. You should try exploring new builds, new skills, new professions, new areas, not stick to the same old story. You'll get very bored fast.

I have no idea where you run around then but i'm perfectly capable of raising a decent army in the most areas of all three campaigns.

I think we don't have any more Ladder Seasons; skills are now balanced mid-season, with smaller updates more frequently.

rofl a little? its people who think like this that make everyone assumer every necro they meet in a MM. I have never played a MM on my Necro and never plan to, Ritualists are better for the main purpose of a mm: blocking. minions do like no damage without stuff like winnowing, their only real use is to protect your casters and to trigger soul reaping.

i disagree. 10 bone fiends put out some serious dps. kills can come ridiculously fast when they target the same target.

I can deal 200+ dps continuosly, indefinately using just three spells AND shield my teammates at the same time.
Yea, N/* MM's clearly suck.

Do you think Dervishes could moonlight as MM? I'm thinking about choosing Necro for my Dervish's secondary...

no, dervishes dont have the proper energy management to MM. even with a wand/offhand, two bone fiends and you have just burnt through all your energy and arent going to be getting it back very soon.

Of course you can always get Olais to bring BR. BIP is unnecessariy. The enchantment I do believe will give you added health and energy when it expires.
You'd also have less minions (due to the Death Magic cap).

Prophercies also gives you "Spiteful Spirit" - still a useful elite
Factions gives you "Vampiric Horrors" aswell as the Golem. I like to have a few Vampirics to balance the health loss of "Order of Undeath"
I took my necro through Nightfall first (Curses) to Cap OoU and JB. I could then put these on Olias or Master of Whispers for my other Chars as they went through.
I think a MM army has its place in Nightfall - Consulate docks for instance , actually anywhere with a large amount of the military provides corpses for a MM. But as someone else said towards the end its not so feasible
